For our members Trendco B.V. and Trendco Swiss AG, we at Maaskade Group are looking for a dedicated QHSE Specialist. Are you practically minded, do you have an eye for safety, and do you want to contribute to safe and reliable inland shipping? Then this position is for you.

Safe and reliable sailing starts with a strong organization ashore and committed people on board. As a QHSE Specialist, you support the QHSE department in the daily follow-up of inspections, incidents, audits, and improvement actions. You are regularly present on board, engaging in discussions with captains and crew, identifying risks, and contributing ideas for practical improvements. You ensure that agreements are followed up and that improvement measures actually yield visible results.

• Your duties include, among others:
• Conducting and following up on safety inspections on board, particularly within the Swiss fleet;
• Assisting with incident investigation, incident follow-up, and corrective measures;
• Contributing to keeping MARAD, SMS, and KMS up to date;
• Assisting with audits, customer inspections, and BIQ inspections;
• Identifying risks and areas for improvement and translating these into practical actions;
• Participating in safety meetings, safety days, and toolbox talks.

For this position, we are looking for someone who values ​​safety and quality, but above all knows how to apply this in daily practice. You are someone who:

• Has at least an MBO+ working and thinking level, preferably in a nautical, technical, logistical, or safety-related field;
• Has knowledge of or experience within inland shipping, preferably in tanker shipping or with dangerous goods;
• Has knowledge of ADN or is willing to further develop this knowledge;
• Holds an Inland Shipping Safety Advisor certificate or is willing to obtain this certificate;
• Has an affinity with safety inspections, audits, ISO, SMS, and KMS;
• Able to identify risks and areas for improvement and translate them into practical actions;
• Is team-oriented and collaborative, and enjoys working with colleagues and crews;
• Is practical, independent, and has strong communication skills;
• Has a good command of the Dutch and English languages. Knowledge of the German language is a plus.
